The Story Behind Our Farm

Every farm has a story...some farms are passed down through families, others are created as a sanctuary or the desire to live peacefully with nature...here is our farm's story...

Our search took several months until we found the perfect place...located in the beautiful town of Somers, Connecticut. We were home now on eight and a half acres and found ourselves with the daunting task of deciding what kind of livestock we wanted to raise.

Soon after getting settled into our new home, Cindy came across an article in Farm & Ranch Living that featured alpacas. The beautiful animals shown in the pastoral pictures on the magazine pages instantly piqued our interest. Coincidentally, that following week a local paper featured an article on an alpaca farm located in nearby Massachusetts. We scheduled a visit to this farm and “alpaca fever” took over!

After our initial farm visit, we spent the next year-and-a-half visiting many different alpaca farms all over New England and attending multiple alpaca seminars. We finally made our first purchases in July 2007 and the love for these animals has continued to grow since that day.

Today, we continue to learn more about these gentle animals as we attend as many alpaca seminars as we can and learn from our day-to-day experiences.

It is our farm goal to breed the highest quality alpacas, and to look for superior genetics to bring to our farm’s bloodlines.
