Welcome Clear Mountain's McKinley

We are so excited to welcome McKinley...our only cria this year! He's sired by Snowmass Matrix Majesty (who's now closed to outside breedings), owned by Cas-Cad-Nac Farm. His mom is our favorite producing dam, Fiona, who of her own accord has many accolades to her name. We have such high hopes for this little guy!

Fall Heat Wave

Wow...it sure has been unusually hot with record setting temps. Doing all we can to keep the alpacas cool with the fleece coming in several inches now. Thank goodness for fans and cold hose baths!

Clear Mountain's Okemo

We had a very exciting weekend this past Fall as we participated in the first AOA Dual Show, Empire Extravaganza and the NEAOBA Alpaca Show. Our juvie beige male, Clear Mountain's Okemo, not only placed first in his class, took Color Championship, and went on to win the Judges' Choice award under Helen Testa and Diana Timmerman. Off to a new home!

Last month brought an exciting day as three of our males found a new beautiful home in Stafford, CT. Hennessey, Ty, and Shiloh were fun to watch as they met all of the other animals at their new farm. Although these boys will be missed, we are always so thankful when we find such wonderful new homes for them.

The cria are arriving....

Our first two cria of this birthing season have arrived, just a few days apart. Although there is no relation between the two, their markings and color are so close we refer to them as our "book ends"... They are fun to watch romping in the paddock!

Blizzard Juno

Well, we are busy digging out from Blizzard Juno that gave us a good amount of snow. I always enjoy watching the cria from this past birthing season as this is their first true snowfall. We have been busy opening up gate entries, gaining access back to the water, and plowing out paddocks. With another substantial snow storm predicted for this coming Sunday night, it will be important for us to move this snow as we make way for more. Welcome winter!
